I've gotten two great flyers in the mail from CVS. The first one is a $1.50 store coupon for ANY Kotex! Since it is a store coupon, I can combine it with a manufacturer's coupon for extra savings. The second flyer was a new CVS card. CVS just spontaneously decided to send me one in case my old one was too ragged to use anymore. They also included a $5 off a $30 purchase coupon!
I got both these flyers by connecting my CVS online account to my CVS ExtraCare card. I highly recommend doing this. Last week, they emailed me a $4 off $20 purchase coupon and that wasn't the first time they have sent me special savings. When I went to check my CVS online account, they let me print out my quarterly earnings too! It's also worth a visit to check out their coupons: they are a mix of store and manufacturer coupons.

CVS ---- saved 83%!
I went to CVS Wednesday on the way to pick up my friend to go to Publix. I knew CVS has a deal running till 2/20 on Glade items, buy $12 worth and get $4 ECB. The items in the sale are running at $6 or 2/$6, so $12 is not hard to hit. The Glade Sense and Spray is in this deal too; get the coupon I mention here before you go! There are also some awesome coupons in the 2-7 SmartSource.
I feel cursed sometimes when it comes to CVS. I have a very hard time getting deals because the items I want are always out of stock, and I do mean always. I have rainchecks from last year I haven't been able to use and I've gone to 5+ CVS's in my area.
Luckily, there were some Glade items left on the shelves this time!
Trip summary:
I bought 3 Glade Reed Diffusers and 1 10oz candle in 2 transactions to lower my out of pocket. I also had a $2 ECB (quarterly) and a $1 ECB from scanning my GreenBagTag. Regular price for these items is $9.99.
Total before savings and coupons: $39.96
Total out of pocket: $6.94
-------------------------------
saved 83% + a $4 ECB for next time -- I also used a $25 gift card from transferring a prescription to pay

Great new coupons for Glade and Betty Crocker!
RightatHome has a new printable coupon for $3 off Glade Sense and Spray here. This is great to use on the sale this week at CVS!
Betty Crocker has some new high value coupons for their cake, cookie, and brownie mix. There's coupons for some of their other brands too. Becentsable has a great list of these and other baking item coupons now available. (Thanks, Becentsable!)

Saving with a new coupon shopper
I went shopping Wednesday with a friend to demonstrate how to save with coupons. She went to Jenny's (from SouthernSavers.com) talk Saturday, so she had a bit of a head start. However, I think going out and actually doing it can be helpful (like learning to drive).
We went to Publix and CVS. I had to scramble to get some coupons together; I wasn't planning to buy much this week, so I hadn't really looked at the ads. Still, I think we did really well.
Trip summary:
She was able to get most of the items on her shopping list, including bread, eggs, margarine, cereal, produce, and potato chips. Some items were out of stock, so we made sure to get rainchecks.
Publix: saved 54%
CVS: saved 43%

CVS ---- saved 99%!
Luckily for me, CVS is right next to Kmart. I actually got a call to head over there yesterday. Over a week ago, I emailed corporate about the lack of Baked Lays at the 3 nearest CVS locations to me (there were no tags for them and I was told stock of perishables was left to chance). CVS had $1 store coupons for Baked Lays available on their website, so I really wanted to be able to use them with a manufacturer coupon. Corporate got in touch with the District Manager and an order was put in for my closest store. Unfortunately, my CVS is very small (a little hole in the wall), so only 4 bags were there when I got there. I picked up 2 bags.
I used 2 $1 CVS coupons and 2 .55/1 manufacturer coupons. I also had $3 in Extracare bucks. The chips were on sale for $3 each.
Total before savings: $7.76
Total out of pocket: $0.08

saved 99%! ----- I also got $1 Extracare buck from diligently scanning my GreenBagTag every time I shop
