Mail Call! Staples and Kmart

I got my ink rewards from Staples today. I recycle my ink cartridges at Staples and receive $3 for each one. You can recycle up to 10 each month for rewards, but Staples will recycle any beyond that too (just no rewards). You must be a member of Staples Rewards, but it is so worth it if you go through as much paper and ink as I do.

I also got a letter from Kmart. Inside was a coupon for a $10 gift card with a new or transferred prescription. These coupons are a good way to get "free" money for something you already have to have. I actually got a $10 gift card at Kmart earlier this week using a coupon from their weekly ad. These coupons are also periodically available at Target, Rite Aid, CVS, and Walgreens; CVS even accepts competitor coupons! A Walgreens prescription gift card is how I started out using Register Rewards, I used it as seed money. Please note that insurance and other factors can affect whether you are eligible for a gift card.

Publix ---- saved 94%

As I said in my earlier post, I went shopping with a friend this week. I brought coupons for both of us. She was able to save about 50%! I gave her some of the stuff I bought too; I got out so cheap it would be criminal not to share! :)

Trip summary:
I bought 5lbs of Publix sugar (.01), 4 boxes of Special K, 2 Sobe water, 5 Knox Gelatin, 1 Heinz Ketchup, 2 French's mustard, Marzetti dip, 4 packs of Ball Park Franks, 2 packs of Smithfield bacon, 2 Heluva Good dip, and a special birthday surprise. I did get overage from the Knox and French's, but most of the savings were from BOGO and double coupons. We also got a senior discount because it was Wednesday.

Total before savings: 65.02
Total out of pocket: 4.10
-------------------------
saved 94% ---- our pre-tax total was $1.41, I wish Tennessee did not have such a high food tax

Walgreens ---- saved 96%!

Earlier this week, I went to shopping with a friend at Bi-lo, Publix, Earth Fare, and Walgreens. It was lots of fun, but extremely tiring.

I needed a couple of things at Walgreens, so I had a list, but we also raided the clearance section. I didn't have coupons for those items, but we saved about 50% on those items anyway.  It's always a good idea to check the clearance section!

Trip summary:
I bought 2 boxes of Osteo Bi-flex, 5 tubes of Sensodyne, 2 Bayer Breeze2 meters, 1 J&J bodywash(just $4!), 22 bars of soap (in 3 multipacks), 2 lipgloss, chips, eye drops, a hairnet, and about 10 filler items. I did three transactions to maximize my savings and Register Rewards.

Total before savings and Register Rewards: 283.55
Total out of pocket: 10.45
-----------------------------
saved 96% ---- My friend went home with all the clearance items (it's good to shop with me :) ).

Rush Trip to Walgreens ---- saved 94%!

I've been out of town all day today and wasn't planning to do more shopping till next week. However, when I got home, I read on IHeartWags that there was a great deal at Walgreens: a $5 on your next order (OYNO) coupon with a purchase of $25+ at select 24-hour Walgreens.

I called up a friend who has just started couponing to meet me at the store. She didn't need $25 worth of stuff, but she did pick me up some coupons from the Atlanta Journal Constitution (yay!).

I got so much stuff that it was spilling out of the cart! I just kept trying to stuff more in there! Sorry about the lack of pictures, but it is horrible weather here and I didn't want to get wet taking pics.

Trip summary:
I got 12 boxes of cereal, 5 boxes of trash bags, 2 bottles of cooking oil, lip gloss, eye drops, and some filler items. I did two transactions to maximize my Register Reward usage and to get two $5 OYNO coupons.

Total before savings and RR: 115.52
Total out of pocket: 6.78
--------------------------------
saved 94% ----- my friend was able to get some candy on clearance that spit out a $1RR (Hershey Bliss)

(Thanks, IHeartWags!)

Mail Call! Staples, Lego, & Tigi

Today, I got my Staples Rewards from last year in the mail. I now have $16.30 that I can use to buy office supplies from Staples. With the rewards, some of the items I bought last year turned out to be totally free! Sign up for your own Staples Rewards card here.

Lego Club sent me my first FREE issue today. It even has 3D glasses! I was glad to see this because I signed up a few years ago and never received anything. Get your own or your child's own free subscription here.

I also got a surprise package from Tigi today. A few months ago, they were giving away FREE Bed Head "Girls Just Want It" Lipstick sampler with 10 different lipsticks. I didn't post the deal on here, because their site got slammed with requests and I got an error everytime I tried to enter my info. I do my best not to post dead or non-working deals on this blog. Apparently, one of my entries got through. This deal has happened before and I will post it next time.

$10 Bonus Bucks with select Kellogg cereal purchase

This deal is pretty simple: just buy 3 specially marked boxes of Kellogg's Mini-wheats, All Bran, or Raisin Bran to send in codes for a $10 rebate. These "bonus bucks" are usable in certain stores (see list here). There is a great $1.50/2 coupon available for the above cereals at RedPlum.com (print it twice). There's also time to wait for a sale because this offer doesn't end until September 30.

(Thanks, Freebies4Mom!)

**I'll be honest, I've never had any lucks with this type of deal before. I'm lucky if I can track down ONE specially marked box. However, I am more hopeful about this one: the deadline is long and four different cereals are eligible. Your experience may vary.**
