Mail Call! Muellers, Dulcolax, & Lane Bryant

Got some great things in the mail today! Dulcolax sent me a check for $5. There was a deal at Walgreens late last year on Dulcolax Balance that made it free after coupon and RR. So, I made a $5 profit with a mail-in rebate! The Dulcolax went to charity. Dulcolax is great about having coupons on products and having printable coupons. The mail-in rebate is also still available!

Lane Bryant sent me another $15 off $15 coupon. I used one of these awhile back to make quite a deal when no sale was going on. You can sign up for their mailing list by going to LaneBryant.com

Mueller's Pasta sent me a 2010 mini-calendar/meal planner. It has meal ideas, recipes, and 12 coupons! Publix has their products on BOGO every so often, so I try to keep an eye on their website for coupons. The calendar/meal planner is still available here, but it is restricted to certain states.

Walgreens ---- saved 93%!

I have some RR expiring over the next few days, so I headed out to Walgreens. There were some lovely deals and the new location I went to now has a clearance section! I didn't need any hair dye, but the prices were awesome ($1.69-$2.79). They are also getting rid of a lot of makeup to add new stock. Check with your local Walgreens if you're interested (this is a common time for clearance makeup nationwide).

Unfortunately, they were still out of Electrasol. But they are now going to have TWO stock days, so I'll head back to the store this weekend to check. I was able to get some Chips Ahoy this time and Neosporin Lip Health.

Trip Summary:
I did two transactions to maximize my RR potential. I had $12 worth of coupons for the sale items.

Total before savings and coupons: $50.16
Total RR used: $23.00
Total out of pocket: $3.52
---------------------------
saved 93%! ------ I also received $7RR for next time

Bi-lo ---- saved 99%!

There are some nice BOGO items on sale this week at Bi-lo. I didn't need much, but if you haven't started on your stockpile, Bi-lo is worth checking out this week.

I got 5 Birds Eye Steamfresh Vegetable bags BOGO 2/$2 with 5 .50/1 coupons. I also wanted to get Marcal paper towels/toliet paper BOGO 2/9.99 (I have $2 coupons!), but both my nearby Bi-los were out (but I got my raincheck). Also, I had a coupon for 1 FREE 2-liter of SH soda that I got from Bi-lo. I always make sure to fill out those surveys on the receipts; Bi-lo will give you a free item coupon at the end!

Trip summary:
I bought 5 Birds Eye and a 2 liter of SH soda.

Total before savings and coupons: $10.96
Total out of pocket: $0.08

I've had a craving for bagel pizza lately. Luckily, all the ingredients are on sale at Publix this week! Lender's bagels are BOGO and there is a coupon that should make them about .50 each pack. I also picked up some Kraft shredded cheese for just $2 (cheaper if you have a coupon). Since I'm still working on my stockpile, I also picked up Green Giant Frozen Vegetables boxes for .50 each (here or here).

I was able to get 3 items free this trip: 2 packs of GE light bulbs and 1 box of Scotties tissues (say "no" here when it asks if you use them regularly).

Michael Angelo's Coupon Offer

Tomorrow Michael Angelo's is sending out their January coupon.  If you haven't already joined their Family Table, make sure you register now! Their coupons are usually pretty nice and this one is for BOGO single serve meals.

5 FREE items today!

I went to the mall today.  I took some coupons along, so I wouldn't spend too much.  I think I did pretty well; I got 5 items for FREE and I even had a coupon to help with lunch!

Mom and I went to Bath & Body Works with this coupon and got 2 items free. We only paid $4.10 on the other items because a lot of stuff was on sale or clearance (at least 4 bins full). My item was only .82, so I saved 88%. Mom saved 60%. The little travel size items make a great gift!

We also stopped off at Earth Fare. I took along the coupon I mentioned here. I got a tangerine, 2 grapefruit, and a box of almonds for only 11 cents! That's a 98% savings!

Free:
-box of almonds
-2 grapefruits
-2 travel size lotions
------------------------
Overall we saved 80% and got 5 items FREE!

Still working on organizing my coupons

I've only been hardcore couponing for about 3 months.  I did couponing a few years ago, but never seemed to get anywhere. The coupons were actually the problem. My local paper, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, has the worst inserts. I'm lucky to get more than 10 coupons/insert. I've been able to source inserts from the Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Gwinnett Daily Post through a relative and ebay. So, now I have a ton of useful inserts and coupons.

With the increase in coupons, I've been working on a different way to organize them. I started out just keeping them in a grocery sack. I've been putting them in envelopes by date, but I'm about to move to file folders.

I've talked in other posts about a coupon binder. My mom gave me the green hanging file box that she wasn't using for my inserts . Inside the box was the Rolodex (it can hold 240 business cards OR coupons!) and more tab dividers, pocket dividers, and a velcro closure accordion file that I can put in my binder.  She had forgotten she had the other supplies (it's serendipity!).

Now I just need hanging file folders!

Kmart Cheerio deal - only .50 a box!

Kmart is selling Cheerios for 4/$6 this week. Use the $1 off Cheerios coupons you get by entering this contest and you'll only pay $2 for 4 boxes! The deal is good for other select General Mill cereals if you want to mix and match (you MUST buy 4 boxes at a time). Honey Nut Cheerios also has $1 coupons.

Sign up for the ShopYourWayRewards program before you go to the store. This deal earns DOUBLE rewards this week! The program works at stores owned by Sears.

When you enter the Cheerios contest, you'll be entered to win a FREE box and receive $1 coupons (1/week for 4 weeks).
